The version string was printed over the top of the password prompt, this is now fixed: https://www.xpra.org/trac/changeset/1990 I am building some 0.7.2 beta packages with this fix, they will appear here shortly: http://xpra.org/beta/ But if you just press return (or type it wrong) it will prompt you again (more cleanly this time).
