If Mageia has a full install with development files and rpmbuild, you can build 
your own rpms from
the tar.bz source file -- that is what I do with openSUSE.  Or, I think you can 
install using the
python installer.

For troubleshooting you can run from a command line and it will note if there 
are missing
dependencies.  You can then install the missing dependencies from your package 
manager.

(Of course, I am about to post my own troubleshooting inquiry to the list!  I 
have successfully
implemented winswitch on multiple computers and now I have one where I cannot 
get the server to work.)
