It's been a few years, but when I last setup something like that, I needed to install a Samba server on the Linux side, and share a directory on the Windows side. You'll need to add in Windows login and password information into a credentials file. It works beautifully once you get it going. I'm not sure if VMTools will do that for you, but like I said, it has been a while and I'm sure things have changed.
That kind of setup was great for EDA tools that only ran on Windows, but then you needed to compile a small embedded program for the same project in Linux. -james -----Original Message----- From: steve ayer [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, September 08, 2011 1:22 PM To: scott coleman Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Shimmer-users] Installing VMWare tools in live distribution VM image hi. sudo bash then you can do whatever you want. -steve On 09/08/2011 01:16 PM, scott coleman wrote: > I want to be able to copy files into and out of the VM machine.
