Shimmer3 is not currently supported in TinyOS (as far as I'm aware). This may come in time but I don't know of anybody that is currently working on this right now. Instead for example code for the shimmer3 take a look here: https://github.com/ShimmerResearch/shimmer3. Currently there is only a single example application available (albeit a fairly extensive example) but more will be available there soon. Shimmer2r (or shimmer2 or shimmer) images cannot be loaded on the shimmer3. Or at least, if they are loaded on they won't work. Shimmer3 uses a newer MSP430 than that used on previous shimmer generations. But then, equally, a shimmer2 image won't work correctly if loaded on a shimmer2r either. Your shimmer2r dock should work fine with a shimmer3. But you will need a different application on the PC side, which you can download from the shimmersensing.com website.
