Hey Lini,

As Bruno already pointed out, unfortunately at the moment getting some gadgets working requires more work then just adding the url.

First of all the gadget provider needs to add your container name ('default' by default) to it's database structures where it stores thing for that 'social network site' (user 1 on hi5 is a different user then user 1 on orkut for instance; So they need a db per container).

Then if they use signed requests, they also need to have your public certificate, so they can validate the signed requests using that key..

And as the last bit, many gadget writers (like iLike and rockyou but almost all other big ones too) currently do some customization of their gadgets per network .. some have home views, others dont. Some use different colors or dimensions, and often the gadgets will be 'tweaked' for each container.

There are workings going on to try to make a more generic structure for this.. things like a global gadget registry where containers can connect too and get 'generic' gadgets etc, but this is still in progress and won't be done for a bit yet since it requires some coordination between all the players in the market. It's something i'm trying to contribute too since many mid to small sized containers will run into this problem.

So for now the only option to have those gadgets that require all the things mentioned above, is to write the gadget developers and ask them to add your container and public certificate to their system.

Hi Chris,

I have added the Emote Application found on orkut on the latest shindig implementation, but it is giving some javascript error for empty JSON. I also tested this on pertuza. The url on pertuza is http://partuza.us.chabotc.com/profile/application/81/47/353

It is giving the same error. The url for the xml file is
http://www.rockyou.com/google_apps/emote_example/view/Emote_XML.php

Can you please let me know whats the problem with this application. It is working fine on orkut as well as hi5.
