Hi Ian,
I think that the shindig-1.0.x is important. We could decide:
shindig-1.0.x/ (snapshot version)
shindig-1.0.x/1.0 or 1.0-incubating (release)
In this case, you need to modify the distributionManagement.url ie
<url>scp://people.apache.org/www/incubator.apache.org/shindig/shindig-1.0.x/${pom.version}</url>
and to remake the release process.
