Hi Sean, If I am not getting you wrong: 1. You just want to have a social network inside your application 2. You would like to have people invite like becoming a friend 3. Probably you would like to invite people from outside to join you site
If my above assumptions are right, then I think you are at wrong place. Shindig is neither an invitation tool nor a social networking site.
