I just read the AfferoGPL and my interpretation is as follows:
Biztel will provide source code of any modifications to the community,
specifically, the modules to connect to interbase and turbogears/apache.
We are not sure what this means for the metadata and turbogears scipts that we
have developed at the other end of the application.
We would see the following architectre:
shrinken + mods on server1 connecting to manifesto+firebird on server2
Does that leave server 2 outside the gpl?
re python we desire to use V2.7 not 3 as turbogears does not support 3 as well

If it's a python >=2.4 and not a 3.0 one with a Pyro module available, it
should not be a problem.
It all depend on how you want them to communicate. The easy way is to make the
data export by a broker module that will give all data to your tool.
Another thought too, I do not see any license on your web site. Remember that
Shinken is an AfferoGPL tool, not just a GPL one, and that make a difference
for web2.0 usage.
