I just called them again and they said they will send one right out. I hope to get one before the end of the season.

Pat,

Try this site for SF Fairway head specs.

Does Bang have a catalog yet? I asked for one some time ago and never received one.

Bernie,
I still haven't received my Bang catalog, I was looking at the specs in the Caliber catalog.

Pat,

I don't know what you're reading, but the Bang SF Fairway 3W that I just put together is 15° and about 220cc...will work very well off the tee. Haven't tried it yet, though...maybe tomorrow.

But I did miss the 13° you mentioned. For 13° and a larger head, call Mars Golf and see if there are any Cydonia LCG 13° heads left. They were on close-out for $15...an excellent playing head. See the Mars Golf site. Have many customers who use 'em. If they are gone, Tour Golf now has the same head with a different look to the sole called the CWB SRO 13° with a 32mm face height...just enough so that it's not pop-up prone at all. It's also about 220cc, though it doesn't look that large. I used to carry one of these for a second "control" driver to shortcut over some trees we have on our course. Hits long, high and straight.

Bernie,
Am I reading the right specs on the SF's? The 3w loft @ 10.5*? That sounds good but the guy wants the head to be no bigger than 190cc. Why would this be considered to be a 3wood and not a Driver?

Pat,

Take a look at Bang's SF Fairways. The 3W is a big head with a face height close to 40mm. Look nice...Deep blue finish with a chrome-like face and sole. Just put a set together with GramanTP440 R shafts (for myself to try out) at 44", 43" and 42", S/W about 3.5 with Lamkin Sof-wrap XT standard grips. Haven't hit them yet, but will report when I do.

Incidentally, it looks like Lamkin is either using the Gripmaster underlisting on these new grips, or something very similar. They are not inexpensive, but a little less than Winns and seem to be better made....though I haven't used one long enough to be sure. Have had one on my driver for a month and it doesn't show any wear, unlike the Winns.

I have a customer looking for a 13* 180cc 3wood to use off the tee that has the "looks" of the TaylorMade Burner. The Burner 3W has a 15* loft. Most of the strong 3's I have seen are smaller and have shallow face heights.105mph speed range. TIA
