Dave,

Understood.  I've been hussled a couple of times by a pool shark.  One was actually a "one-armed bandit".  :-(

How do you determine who is an "A" player and who is a "B" player?

Hi Cub,
The "players" know who is an A and who is a B.
It's pretty hard to hide an A stroke.
The "action" you impart on the cue ball is kind of a give away.
If an "unknown" wins in a B flight then he's an A the next week
In fact it's fun to watch a guy try to hide his stroke to get a game.
To hide your stroke you would definitely leave you cue in the car and use an off the rack house cue, and you would use an "open bridge" that is letting the shaft tip slide between your thumb and index finger as opposed to a "pro" closed bridge which would have the thumb and middle finger below the shaft and the index finger hooked over the top, you would miss your share of shots but somehow manage to "luck out" and not leave your opponent a shot when you did.
The best way to win would be to have your opponent believe he should have won so you could get another game with him at a later date.
