Here is something I stumbled on some time ago and have thoroughly tried out
& satisfied with.
1. My old Dremel Tool bit the dust. I suppose I could have put new little
thingys in the side where the circle screws are but instead I looked on ebay
and saw a unit that hangs much like a dentist's tool. The motor is 1/4
horse, so it is plenty of power. It then has a 3 to 4 foot length much like
the Dremel add-on you can get. Then the hand piece is made with a very small
drill chuck that takes 3/16 and anything smaller. The speed is controlled by
a foot control much like a sewing machine control, so you can increase or
decrease speed without stopping work. Best of all, it was cheaper than a new
Dremel.
2. The second thing I discovered, also on ebay, is an item that was sold
under the name of "tile cutters" in connection with a Rotozip tool. They
came in a pack of 8 or 10, 1/8" size and are of tool steel. They work super
for cleaning out hosels, cleans out the old glue quickly and thoroughly
without much effort and they last and last. One will clean out lots and lots
of hosels. I have also used one to ream a hosel from .335 to .350 (titanium)
and then turned back to cleaning hosels and it still cleans.
Thought someone might want to try one or the other of these. You may have
already tried and either liked it or not and may have already reviewed it on
this forum. If so, please excuse. ED
