thanks for the reply Frank.  My personal set is actually identical to 
your set and I agree with your comments on use of woods totally.  

However, you did not answer my question in regard to any logical 
explaination of why the golfsmith recommended dimensions leave a 
discontinuous 3 inch difference between the 3 iron and 5 wood 
lengths ?.  I'm just looking for some reasonable explaination that I 
for one have failed to grasp.
