RK,
Must be caused by all that MB sunshine and salt air, RK. :-) My Mom had Parkinson's and I don't need any of that. I have enough trouble hitting a putt on line anymore with reasonably steady hands. I may soon have to face the fact that I'll never be a 2 again, but I'm not giving up without a fight. Always wanted to make scratch and never quite did it. Got to a 1.4 index in the 1960s and 1.5 three years ago. Sure would like to shoot my age, though. Came within one shot of it right before I went on dialysis last year with an unexplainable 69 (-3) on our shorter course. Had 27 putts that day...haven't been anywhere near that number since. Post surgery scores this winter have been mostly low 80s (82 yesterday with three 3-putt greens) and an occasional 88-92 (seven 3-putt greens on that 92...couldn't bend my back very well on that round).
We'd make good partners, though. If our opponents had to watch you shaking and me with my puffy red Prednisone face and jerky putter, we'd scare 'em into submission. :-)

- Bernie, Talk about trying to overcome a personal handicap vs agolfing handicap you should be in my shoes. W/in two very short years i went from a 7 HCP to a 36+ HCP and only lost about 100 yards on my drives, no matter how long the shaft is on my driver.

- Chris,
- Geez, you're a darn gorilla if you can swing that 51-incher consistently. I
- don't know if I could get the head off the ground. :-)
- Think David is right on looking at Dean's post again. Was confused. I've
- been doing so many 13° fairway drivers for my son's young guns lately, that
- I was assuming Dean meant degrees. Forgot those heads went up to a 15.
- Yup, feeling much better. New kidney has my blood pressure normal without
- medication for the first time in 20 years. Now, if I can get the
- steroid-supplemented gut reduced to normal and tight back straightened out,
- maybe I can make a full turn again. Am 20 yards shorter with the driver than
- I was eight months ago and about 8 shots higher as a result. Need lots of
- practice. There's always another challenge for old guys. Right, Al?
