THANKS!!! - to all of you who provided suggestions (on & off list) to
make sure I'd stay in the 'ole Man's will.
I went Wishon all the way, although I was tempted by a couple of other brands.
To wit: = 915CFE 360cc 10.5* hand selected to a minimum +1* extra loft
($2.50 extra)
= ZT-R High Wood shaft (BTW- It's a catalog misprint that states
an A-flex tip on a R-flex butt; it's supposedly a soft-R everywhere)
As a Tool & Die man, the 'ole Fart just wanted to swing some Titanium off
the tee, so I had to steer away from the steel options. 360cc is about the
max I really wanted to go for him knowing how much he hated to give in and
go to something "big". Although I haven't seen an actual sample just yet,
I like the concept on the Nightfire that utilizes a bit of profile magic to
make it look a tad smaller. Although for the prospective customer under
discussion, I wasn't sure he was compatible with the Nightfire's 58*
lie. I also dismissed the 915CFE High Launch at 14* as this came at the
penalty of a slightly shorter face height. Another 14* option, the
PureFit, I have actually tried at a nearby PCS Class "A" fellow's range and
have to say that kind of loft can cure a lot of ills. However, I just don't
think the 'ole Man's ready to swallow that pill just yet...
..maybe next month(!)
Thanks again guys!!
Tom
