Thanks for the heads up on the pry bar.  I need an economical solution to this right now. :)

Hi Doug,

Been there, done that.  As you have discovered you have to pull the head
straight back on a graphite shaft.  If you don't want to spend a lot of
money on a puller Golfsmith sells a pry bar for 18 bux that works just
fine.  You can see it on page 119 of the Golfsmith catalogue and don't
forget to get a set of protective collars with it.  As to ferrules, I've
never worried about saving them---the're cheap, keep a supply on hand.
The first thing I do, when removing a shaft, is soften the ferrule (with
a heat gun) and cut it off.
