Hi all. I just played in our annual club
tourney today. It isn't a big money thing. The course owner's son,
who is also an employee of the course, shot 77, on an 18 handicap. I have
played against him in the past. He is a single digit. I checked
the handicap computer. He has not entered a score since September
2002! Heck, he plays at least 4-5 times per week. His men's league
handicap (which is kept separately for our 9-hole league) is 4.4. I went
to our Pro and asked him about this. He said he can't "force" him to enter
his scores. In fact, the son's team didn't get to advance in the Buick
Scramble because they reviewed the handicaps and disqualified them. I told
the Pro that nobody will want to play in the club championship with a
"cheater".
Is there anything else that can be done to put
pressure on this guy with the USGA or something? (I don't want to get him
mad. He's built like a brick outhouse and could kick the crap out of
almost every one of us. Heck, I think his girlfriend could kick the crap
out of me!) I am not complaining because his cheating hurt me. I was
not in his flight. I'm bugged because of the integrity of the
situation. I was absolutely shocked to learn that he has not posted
scores. I think the Pro is probably afraid of getting fired if he crosses
the owners.
