Graham,

I have no idea if anyone makes a flat faced driver anymore...doesn't make any sense. But, why don't you give him a copy of my dad's bulge patent, if you haven't tried that already. It certainly explains the need for a horizontal curvature very well. If he sees that Spalding was putting bulge on real woods back in the late 1930s, he may realize that it is essential to any driver for decent performance.

Think that you have a copy of dad's bulge patent...if you don't, I'll be glad to send you one.

Subject: ShopTalk: Flat Faced Driver

I am looking for a flat faced driver for a client who is very set in his ways. He doesn’t like the look of modern drivers that have obvious bulge and roll. Despite my lengthy description of the advantages he is still insistent.

A couple of years ago I found a head for a client with similar ideas. My notes say that it was a True Power T36. Unfortunately, I have no idea where I got it from.

Any ideas on this head or another head with little bugle and roll?

Cheers

Graham
