I thought you guys were familiar with how to apply the masking tape so I
did not elaborate
I am familiar with the method. Just don't trust it based on experience of repairing clubs that have been shafted that way. I have no problem with metal shims because they are bonded to the shaft and to the hosel. That is a bond I trust. Paper contaminated with adhesive (masking tape), encased in epoxy is just not my idea of what a strong is made out of.
"The idea is to use enough to center the shaft,
and the epoxy will fill the gaps and provide the strength."
I also beleive that epoxy is not meant to be a "filler" unless it has some limited amount of "fill" added to it. Thus for me the answer is not loading in shafting beads.
Redo is a dirty word. More time wasted. Breeds customer mistrust and doubt for future business.
