JOHN:

I can help you with this because I had to remove one of these from its
shaft to do testing that was supposed to be for a Golf Digest
comparative article on G/ti heads vs all Ti heads earlier this year.

This head is no problem whatsoever to remove because the area of
graphite on the crown is pretty small - this the Ti area extends well
down from the hosel through the curve into the head. Just use a small
flame torch all around the hosel and down on the heel side of the face
to get some more heat lower on the shaft tip, and then just use a really
good extractor to PUSH the head off as soon as you can after heating.
The only OEM head I found tricky that I had to do for this study was the
Fusion - that one you have to be more careful using a little heat at a
time, wait for the heat to take effect and then keep applying high
pushing force with a good extractor.

Subject: ShopTalk: Reshaft Mizuno MP001

I'm reshafting one of the Mizuno graphite/titanium heads. Before I
own a melted graphite/titanium head, would like to get advice/tips
from someone that has reshafted this specific model (the MP001).
