Hi All,
The new rac os irons have an inner hosel sleeve made of steel similar to a shim that protrudes above the top of the hosel about a 1/4" and makes ferrule mating a bitch on a reshaft.
It's almost as if the bore is .390 with a .20 steel shim that is intregal to the head.
I did a single club last week and drilled the base of my ferrule and gooped it up with ferrule cheese to finish it off, but now I have a whole set to do and have gone through all ferrule options with no success.
It would appear my best option at this point is to grind off the protrusion, but I will reduce an already short insertion depth 1 1/4" to 1", plus lighten the head a gram or two
I realize I will only soft step it about 2 cycles from factory and likely will be offset by the reduction in head wt but would prefer not to grind off the excess.
Does any body have any suggestions or experience with these?
David
