When I was a young engineer I once did that, and my mentor
compared it to "polishing a turd". Now THAT'S an image that will stick with
you over the years!

Is there a free download available that explains how to do this? Do I need any tools? Will an electric drill do the job. Any special buffing compounds for this? Do I use a stitched wheel? How long does it take? Can I get a black "Pro" finish? If I don't like the finish, how do I restore it to the original?

I have a hammer, screwdriver and pliers but no electric drill. Is there any othe way to do it?
Will this lower my score?
Right now I'm doing my work on the kitchen table but after we save up enough for the down payment I will have a garage to work in. Oh, another question, does the garage have to be heated? If so to what temperature? It does get cold here in the winter but that's when we go south.
