Thanks for the very useful "review" below. Hadn't thought of the water reservoir...will be a big help when I finally get sarted on my basement shop in the "new" house. I'll ask the man who owns one...:-) Do you have a pic of this ash attachment or a product name/number you could e-mail to me?

By using a shop vac in conjunction with an attachment used when vacuuming fireplace ashes you alleviate the problem of graphite dust clooging shop vac bags and blowing the dust out through the exhaust. The ash attachment causes the dust to be trapped in a water resevoir. The water gets emptied after a long period of time and all the dust gets flushed with the water. It has been very effective in my shop and requires very little maintenance!
