I have a kit from Northern Tool Company which I have used for years - what I found is that you need to build a good nest to firmly hold the putter head, and use a fairly firm blow with a good sized (16oz or bigger) hammer. If you don't get a nice, deep stamp on the 1st hit, it is very hard to 'deepen' the stamp without making a shadow with a second hit.
You will need to 'invest' more time practicing than $$ for the stamping kit.... $20 - $30 is all you'll need. ________________________________ From: "j...@clubmaker-online.com" <j...@clubmaker-online.com> To: shoptalk@mail.msen.com Sent: Tuesday, September 15, 2009 9:38:02 AM Subject: ShopTalk: Metal Stamping Putters I'm thinking about buying a metal stamping kit to stamp initials in putters, wedges, my forehead and the like. Any suggestions on a good kit to buy and experience doing this sort of thing? -- Thanks!
