Meaning, it has the slotted collar on top of the head? If so, there is no problem with reshafting it. It won't need much heat if it was the factory epoxy, but it does seem to be able to take heat just fine. You can save the ferrule by heating it and then popping it free with a putty knife. I heated a cup of water to 170º and dunked the shaft tip in it for 4-5 seconds to get the ferrule evenly warmed up.
