If i'm understanding Jonathan's emails correctly, i would interpret his
sentiments roughly as follows (my words, not his):
You're being a demanding jerk. Not cool. Please stop.
The basic thing you're trying to achieve (installation of Shorewall on a
non-FHS-compliant Linux build) is at least a minority corner case, and
quite probably a ridiculous waste of time. Tom has been very tolerant
(i would say indulgent) in accommodating your demands; you could at
least be polite and respectful about it.
