I am the maintainer of shorewall packages for openSUSE, and shorewall rpm
packages have been provided for a long time officially.

I am not sure I am following you here if it is SLE you are talking then it is
a different game, as Enterprise Server support is somehow different, and I
don't know their policy.
But if we are talking about openSUSE releases then feel free to open a bug
report at http://bugzilla.opensuse.org making sure which openSUSE release,
which repo etc.
