Ohf - not only that... the real work is - that Tom & Co. are putting a layer between what can be a complex firewall setup and the admin/user.
And - to get this done right - is really really hard ! (Talking from experience). Back in time - I had done my own stuff - writing scripts etc. - it was a hard task - as at a certain moment in time - you really start dreaming of it ... And then suddenly - came shoreline Firewall ! The end of my scripting excerpts ... I am so glad we have a very solid fundament for setting up a firewall using shorewall - that I didn't even bother looking at anything else in the last 4 Years ... And - what is the best - you can even handle it on the CLI ! so - running it on a very slow machine is really no issue - and _THAT_ is the real big advantage of shorewall over all other solutions ... And - BTW - of course - GPL ? :D the fast support (responsiveness of this list), capabilities, features, etc. ... Tom & Co. - a Big and Warm Thank You to all of you ... You really really deserved and deserve it !
