Hello,

I am trying to solve this error. I have 4 providers on the same
interface, eth1 and one of them is down (the router have a hardware
problem now). When I tried to start the shorewall firewall it couldn't
start because it couldn't determine the MAC address of 10.1.2.25 gateway
because it is down. How could ignore this error ? I prefer to have the
shorewall up even the gateway is down.

Do you know hot to solve this error ?

Looking for bugs in the release notes, I have found in 4.2.9 the next
solved problem:
"

3) When Shorewall could not determine the MAC address of of a gateway
router where multiple providers are configured through the same
interface, invalid iptables-restore input was generated. This
resulted in an error message similar to the following:

        iptables-restore v1.3.5: Bad mac address `-j'

"
I thought in the possibility of relation of my problem with that bug but
it seems that is not real relation.

I am using the 4.2.10 shorewall version.

Thank you.
