Unfortunately Shotwell cannot recreate the missing thumbnails and mimics
today. I think you may have to reimport into a new Shotwell database,
in which case you will lose your edits (but not your tags, assuming
you've enabled the option to write metadata to photo files). We
recognize that this is a serious limitation and hope to fix this for 0.11:
