Hi, i deleted the thumbs folders within .shotwell and copied the pics and the DB manually.
The issue is adressed in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/682118 in the meantime. Would be brilliant if you'd add the following workaround to your FAQ: http://askubuntu.com/questions/15020/thumbnails-in-shotwell-are-all-gray the issue is solved for me with this workaround, however it would be nice if you'd integrate this in future. I do understand if you don't have the capacity building it right now - however i don't either as I'm full-time ocupied by the mailman Project (Gsoc) I'm sure there will be a better person who might already know VALA who could figure this out. Anyhow I'll get a new Cam with GPS tags - so maybe I'll digging into the code around the next year. But as this would require me to learn a new language this will not happen right now. Anyway thanks for your answer - and your contributions to the Open Source World. Although there are some feautres missing I really enjoy using shotwell. 2011/8/1 Eric Gregory <[email protected]> > On Sat, Jul 30, 2011 at 12:24 PM, Benedict Stein < > [email protected]> wrote: > >> Dear Developers, >> >> unfortuneatly i lost a collection of ~9 years of sorted photos, >> well to be honest the pics do exist, the DB was successfully copied BUT >> >> shotwell doesn't recreate the thumbails. >> https://bugs.launchpad.net/shotwell/+bug/818611 >> >> I'm sure this might be related to >> http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/2889 >> >> I'd be very happy if anyone of you would at least write a quick workaround >> to simply recreate the thumbs, e.g. a dirty plugin compatible to >> Package: shotwell 0.9.3-0ubuntu0.1 >> >> Thanks in advance - benste >> > > Hi, > > Could you give us some more information on how you copied the DB from the > old computer to the new?
