As a follow up, I've posted the gdb stuff on lauchpad, bug no 4097.
I tried using a Ubuntu Natty live CD and I could install and run Shotwell
fine on that. Is this a Mint issue and difference to Natty I wonder? Sorry
that the subject is a little misleading in that respect!
As a side remark, it seems harder and harder to find a distro with a
reasonable Gnome setup that runs Shotwell, particularly outside Ubuntu.
Compiling on Fedora is ok, but I don't want to have to do that every month.
It's a little hard to say; I've posted a follow-up comment on the ticket you
filed about the log. It seems it wasn't attached for some reason.
