Hi,
I am going to try and backport d-conf and it's dependencies in order to
resolve the issue where Shotwell 0.11 doesn't save preferences on Lucid.
No promises though, it looks like a big job. I'll report back on the
viability in a couple of days.
Regards, Martin.

Hi Joe,
I saw this the first time you posted it but these libs aren't
availible
for 10.04 lucid(yes I've tried it). Martin has done a good job
backport
shotwell to the 10.04 LTS ubuntu but I recon it will be harder for
him
when the yorba team use more of the newer options/libs in later
versions
of Ubuntu that he has to take into consideration when making up the
backported versions. I have no problems with the statement from the
yorba team about not supporting older versions of Ubuntu(even thou I
think it's a pity) so I'm pleased with the fact that one guy(Martin)
is
doin all this effort for us that think you don't have to have the
latest
version all the time.
But thank you for the tip Joe I'll remember it when I upgrade.
Best Regards
Mike

To fix the
"GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your
settings
will not be saved or shared with other applications."
error on natty. Try installing the dconf libraries.
sudo aptitude install dconf-tools libdconf0 libdconf-dbus-1-0
For me this silenced the error, and allowed me to save settings.
