My shotwell version is the version 0.11.6-1-natty1 that installs on
ubuntu 11.04 (after adding the yorba repository |ppa:yorba/ppa |)
Perhaps the poblem is due to the fact I've informed both the IPTC and
the XMP metadatas and, sometimes, with different information!!
Of course, if you need more information, let me say and I will try to
send. Also if you whant an example photo (.jpg with 4-8Mbytes in size)
