Parent \-> Child A \-> Grand Child \-> Child B
This is obviously a heirarchy which will lead to problems. Parents do *not* include their children! The top-level tag for a family would be 'Wilson Family' or for Windows users 'My Family' :-)
And children typically have at least two parents (and maybe step-parents).
A search on 'Child *' should pull in all those tagged 'Child *' but no Parents or Grand-child photos. If you search a particular tag, you shouldn't get parent tags or child tags included. If I want photos of a particular parent, why would I want their children as well? I can see the case for an inclusive 'My Family' tag but more than one layer under that will cause problems in search/filtering.
All this implies it's *much* easier to stick to one level of tags! Regds, Chris. _______________________________________________ Shotwell mailing list [email protected] http://lists.yorba.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/shotwell
