Are you looking for the ability to rename an event based on who was present? If so, Shotwell does have this capability already; simply right-click on the event you'd like to change in the sidebar, and choose 'rename'. If this isn't quite what you had in mind, please let us know - perhaps there's some usability need that's going unaddressed and deserves discussion. Thank you for your interest in Shotwell!
