Hi Lucas, thank you for taking the time to look this over. I did 'rm -rf .gconf/org/yorba/shotwell' and things seem to be working now. I did not have .gconf/apps/shotwell. I should also mention that I checked the Portage log and for sure I've never installed shotwell before I installed this instance of 0.13.1.
