Hi, I have been using Shotwell happily (but probably not very efficiently)
for a few years now and built up a database of with tags and star ratings
to categorise around 14-years worth of photos.

I have just bought a new laptop to replace our aging desktop and, largely
at the wife's insistence, have kept Windows-7 on it. I want to migrate all
my photos to it. Unfortunately it does not look like the Windows port of
Shotwell has kept up with Linux. It appears to be versioin 0.4. So when I
esported from Linux to a portable hard-drive and then imported the photos
onto the laptop last night, despite them having all my tags in the
metadata, it did not pick them up (and doesn't appear to support tags at
all). It also did not pick up my ratings but it does not look like they are
saved in the metadata anyway so that is not a huge surprise.

What are my options here? Is there any way of running a recent version of
Shotwell under Windows-7? What other software can I use that will import
the tags from the metadata? Is there any way of exporting the star-rating
with the photos?

Many thanks for any advice,

--- Alistair.
