Check the syslog messages. (dmesg and logread should help). I have the 
issue on my shr-testing which in installed on NAND sometimes and the 
issue is that I get some "..... gsm failed to suspend" log entry.

I have no idea what to do about that. This is the standard shr kernel 
2.6.29...
