I agree, just try to add the number in a normalized format. When adding
number while on holiday in France (who would ever want to do that anyway
;-) ), people will just have to adapt the numbers to whatever is
correct.
This might not the the most convenient or correct solution for everyone,
but given how often you add a number in a foreign country and how often
you do lookups, I prefer optimizing for the latter.
