Daniele, finally i was able to test the self rotating input method. It is something that i thought i would really like. Here are some observations: pros: the keyboard is greatly usable with this method, as it correctly spreads over the whole width of the screen. all e based application do cause the keyboard to appear AUX switches the kbd off if needed cons: rotation takes not too long really, but it becomes annoying to wait for it :) i think the whole wm restarts at that moment on some occasions i would need only to edit -> choose something from a hoversel->edit next field. Of course, this sequence causes me to go landscape->portrait->landscape. Not sure what the solution might be... perhaps AUX would kill kbd but screen would stay rotated, next AUX press would bring back the portrait mode? As no other method switches the kbd off anyways, this could perhaps be a working solution...
