I'm wondering if anyone has tried SHR on the Geeksphone? What is
status?
I'm ready to upgrade my phone-hardware, and Geeksphone seems to be
the other most open phone out there. I just don't want to use
Android. I like SHR :)
David Lanzendörfer (leviathan in irc) has a device given from tuxbrain
and is going to start the port soon :) Basic support should be quite
simple afaik as the chipset is similar to htc dream one :)
Yes, he wrote that to me. He has some trouble because there where no
cable with the phone, and it's some weird usb that's not that popular.
But it still sounds promising. As I have no idea how to make hardware
work, I won't buy it before there is a kernel/script I can download that
makes things work.
If there are libraries that make the camera work I would gladly make a
camera application (or at least try..). It would make my Openstreetmap
mapping a lot easier.
