Hmm, GSM worked for me with minor problems (occassional transient service
drops). Care to file a bug?

Exactly.
With such limited resources it might be worthwhile to look around and see if
there is more effective way to get the excellent features that SHR distro
have onto more phones and in front of more eyeballs.

We need to clarify these features first :) . Ok, I will drop the first
couple features I like:

* One can ssh into the device and have more-or-less familiar Linux
environment
* There are many useful on the phone linux applications (albeit with ugly
and inconsistent interface)
