it would be a nice option to be able to select from a set of mostly
default fields the ones, that you would like to use as your default for
your contacts so no empty fields would be displayed while nothing
necessary would be missing. Also you should be able to add completely
custom fields. Having said that, I checked from my most complete PIM
which fields I use:

* First, middle and last names (should be separate and allow sorting by
first or last names)
(* Nickname)
* Cell phone
* Home phone
* Business phone
* Personal e-mail
* Business e-mail
* Profession
* Company
* Department
* Birthday
* Home address, city, postal code, state, country
* Work address, city, postal code, state, country
* Free notes of unlimited length
* Small portrait in jpg format, no idea if that would be in any way
  applicable here.

That's what would suffice for me. It would be nice to be able to add
several of the same type of fields. For example a contact that works
in two places should be able to have two work addresses, professions,
companies, departments, business phones, business e-mails etc.
