Good to see all that feedback :-) The keyboard rotate issue will be fixed eventually - see http://shr-project.org/trac/ticket/510 - I don't know when that'll be, but I'd guess it may be a while as it sounds like quite a big change. I think the OptimSMS2 keyboard looks nice, but having the bottom buttons so thin surely makes them hard to press, next to the edge of the screen? (I haven't had a chance to try it out on my phone yet) For me, once the landscape works with keyboards I'm happy to use the current one.
