Hi all,

I saw you had issues with omnewrotate. There's an update to omnewrotate in the feeds, so feel free to try again.

Once you have it installed you'll need to apply the following workaround until the permissions in the package are fixed, but hopefully with that done you'll find the behaviour has improved somewhat.

 opkg install omnewrotate
 chmod +x /etc/init.d/omnewrotate

I provided some of the updates to the original developer because I was suffering from the same annoyances, so I hope you find it improved :-)

Do let me know how you get on.

I tried out omnewrotate the other day and it drove me insane. It seemed
like it was way to aggressive at rotating the screen and it largely made
the phone un-usable as the freerunner is too slow at redrawing the screen.

Does anyone have good TTPs (tactics, techniques, practices) for using
omnewrotate?

What I've done is edit the /etc/default/omnewrotate.conf file, and disabled
the autoactivate option of omnewrotate. Since then, it only activates when I
explicit ask for it. That makes the software way more usable.

Thanks!
