On May 6th, I updated my SHR-U the night before going on a business trip. Since then, I have only been able to get SHR-U to recognize my SIM card once. When I landed in Frankfurt, I turn my phone back on and all worked fine. About a week later I rebooted and since then I have been unable to get SHR-U to recongnize my SIM card.
Here's a brief problem description: 1) I turn the phone on 2) I'm prompted with the SIM PIN code dialog 3) I enter my pin, "0000" (I'm stating that because it has relevance later on) 4) I'd say about 65% of the time, the pin entry dialog will not display the "OK" button after I enter my pin. (I think it has to with the pin being all zeros.. I enter a any other digit and 3 zeros, I always get the "OK" button) 5) When I do get the "OK" button it will display "Checking" for a few seconds then show me the desktop. 6) about 15 seconds later the GSM strength bars show up but the shelf still says "No Service" 7) about 2 to 10 seconds later, the GSM strength bars disappear 8) about 1 second later, the SIM pin diaglog reappears. 9) repeat steps 3 to 9 until I get frustrated and stop. I've updated 4 times since this problem has occured with no resolution. Latest was this morning. My SIM card works fine in my backup phone (a tiny samsung I always carry with me "just in case".) It also works in my other FR which is running android. Ideas? Should I file a bug report? Regards, Lowell -- Not sent from any iFad du jour... I'm not a lemming.
