I *think* I have a good experience with SHR-testing. Once in a while on (for
my FR) totally random moments, I send an sms with skype to my FR. I've never
seen one not arrive. Also I don't have the impression I've ever lost a message
based on other's reactions. I also never noticed I've missed communication.
BUT on one big CONDITION:
I regularly test my connection by calling my operator's voicemail. If that
passes, my communication's fine. Otherwise I have to reboot.
RisK factors for a broken connection are being connected to GPRS and being in
places with very weak GSM reception (where other phones (nokia, ...) cannot
communicate at all. Combining these two factors exponentially raise the risk.
(The difference with the nokia-like phones is that these phones resume normal
operation when the reception gets better without human interaction. My FR
however is more often able to make calls and SMS in these bad conditions.)
