It's great from devels to ask questions like these, it shows that you respect the community and want to hear about it. Well done! Ignoring how much work it is to do this or if they really are worth it, here are some: - unify the UI - on some apps you scroll down by sliding the view, sometimes you need to scroll down with the scroll bar - improve the UI design: add colours (for example the POWER quick menu is gray/white, not very appealing), rethink the main menu/home view: icon categories, submenus, ..? See [1] for what Paroli looked like.. - rethink the default apps: for example Numpty Physics isn't playable without screen rotation, which isn't done by default - rethink WLAN+BT+other connections: maybe create one tool (homeview / screen lock?) that shows all available connections, when WLAN/BT are on. Maybe turn them on with the quick menu? - Summarying these, it'd be great to get rid of the first-step 'run big-screen-linux-apps on small screen' and get on with writing apps for phones. There is (maemo..) and will be more Linux phones, so I don't think time spent on working on small linux apps is wasted: we now have FSO & SHR apps that will be available when there's a new Linux phone, and that's great! - Finger-friendly keyboard. This'd require some kind of advanced integration.. Rotate the phone 90 degrees and the screen does the same, changing to a bigger keyboard & text field. - Some of my old SHR thoughts: http://risto.kurppa.fi/blog/2009/09/random-openmoko-thoughts/ - Ringtone manager - and a package in the feeds with new tones! - To activate the community and apps porting & writing - a package showroom. opkg.org tried but is unmaintained. David/tuxbrain started with apt-portal but never finished. Spaetz has made a nice one: http://opkg-repo.org/ but it could use some more attention and visibility (Hey, haven't had a look for a long time, but it seems to work! Screenshots are still missing :) Code: http://bitbucket.org/spaetz/opkgrepo/ - maybe some kind of GUI for package installation - Announcements. It'd be awesome to have a monthly/weekly report (on blog / mailing list / Community Updates..) of what's happened in SHR. What's the roadmap, is there a timetable? When do we see a feature freeze and aim for stable? Thanks a lot for working on SHR and that way taking Freerunner this far!
