If you have lat/lon for the contact you can set it as position or (more likely) destination with the existing navit dbus interface [1]. This will start an instance of navit if it isn't already running. It doesn't let you set destination by address yet, and even if it did the address lookup based on OSM data is patchy. A better bet may be the geoclue geocode interface, but the only providers so far rely on web-based lookups.
