I also use mc from time to time.
But when I want to transfers media file from the host to the FR, using
konqueror is the easier solution.
Or modifying configuration file is easier with kwrite than nano.

I've never used sftp or sftp-server. Single files (or up to 3) are
copied with scp, if there are more files I use mc (over a ssh
connection).
